The National Society Sons of the American Revolution can provide
qualified members dressed in period-correct 18th Century uniforms for
classroom hands-on history classroom programs. Our knowledgeable
presenters can spark student interest by letting the students experience
what it was like during the Colonial period. Presenters use “Patriot Chest” teaching aids such as reproduction period items like eyeglasses,
documents, colonial eating utensils, quills, plates, games, toys, and period clothing.
Students will receive a short introduction about the American War for
Independence by the presenter and a description of 18th-century clothing and accoutrements. This is interactive program on the colonial period will engage students who will be able to see and feel history and ask questions about our nation’s founding era.
The Republic Chapter S.A.R (Salem Oregon) patriot chest presentation focuses on the “Well-Dressed Continental Soldier.” In other words, what the continental soldier carried with him during the American Revolutionary War. Our collection includes replica items from the period. It also includes some home items such as games and dishes.
